South Lyon-based Innovative Corporate Solutions Inc. announced this week that it had become licensed as a Michigan professional investigator, meeting the requirements of Michigan's new Public Act 146 for computer forensics businesses.
Duane Hopkins, the company’s CEO, an experienced investigator and longtime computer forensics expert, received the license early this week.
Public Act 146 impacts the computer forensics industry by requiring all investigators to become licensed in the State of Michigan. Individuals and companies must meet the qualifications by the Act that is administered by the Department of Labor and Economic Growth. Public Act 146 was effective immediately on May 28 and holds a stiff penalty of a four year felony charge for non-licensed individuals.
