Sidewalk Extravaganza

Writers love to see that their words have an impact on other people.  What better way to see that impact than to make writing a public activity in your neighborhood?

Help your elementary aged child and other neighborhood children to use sidewalk chalk to write stories, poems, or comics on around your house.

Make it a neighborhood event and take a tour along the sidewalks to read what everyone has written.  This can also turn into a block story by letting each child  write a piece of a story on a different sidewalk. After that, walk the streets to read the whole story.
