Plymouth Township (WWJ) -- Dangerous situation for drivers along M-14 in Plymouth Township early Friday morning. Michigan State Police say someone has been throwing pumpkins from freeway overpasses.
State Police say three pumpkins were thrown from the Ridge Road overpass around 3:30 a.m. Friday and hit a westbound pickup truck. One of the pumpkins smashed through the windshield hitting the driver.
The 50-year old from Pinckney was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti and is in stable condition with head wounds.
State Police troopers say whoever was responsible may have been watching the response because after the accident scene cleared and the ambulance left, more pumpkins were thrown off the overpass.
Troopers say they don't know if one person or more than one person is responsible.
Anyone who may have information should call Michigan State Police at 734-287-5000.
