Obama, McCain Headed Back to Michigan

Detroit (WWJ)  -- Barack Obama will reportedly participate in Detroit's annual Labor Day march Monday.

That's according to a Web site for the Detroit Federation of Teachers union.  Obama is expected to deliver an address at Hart Plaza at 11 a.m. Monday during a rally following the parade, which begins at 9:30 a.m.

Obama and running mate Joe Biden will campaign in Battle Creek on Sunday.

They plan to leave Denver Friday by bus and travel to campaign stops in Pennsylvania. The tour then will head to nearby Ohio and Michigan, two other key battleground states. The candidates will be accompanied by their wives, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.

Meantime, WWJ has learned Republican presidential candidate John McCain's visit to Michigan next week.

McCain,  his wife Cindy and the Vice Presidential nominee will hold a rally at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights next Friday, September 5.  The doors open at 3 p.m.   The program begins at 5 o'clock.

Tickets are available at local GOP offices.
