New SnagIt Software From TechSmith

Okemos-based TechSmith Inc. Tuesday introduced version 9.0 of its SnagIt software.

The company said the new version offers new features, design and performance capabilities enabling any computer user to quickly and effectively turn simple screenshots into powerful visual communication tools.

A series of short screencasts of what’s new in SnagIt 9 can be viewed at www.techsmith.com/snagit9showme.

SnagIt 9 enables computer users to take screenshots of exactly what they see on their computer screens to communicate ideas faster, explain concepts clearly, and archive electronic information with point-and-click convenience. SnagIt is the world’s most popular screen capture software with millions of users worldwide.

With SnagIt 9, customers can quickly capture, edit and share any image, including scrolling windows, objects, menus, video, text, and Web pages and include them in emails and instant messages, PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Office documents, marketing and sales materials, technical documentation, class handouts, Web sites and blogs.

New features and functionality include:

* Multi-image capabilities that enable customers to work faster and always have a visual reference of their screenshots so they can easily capture, edit and share multiple images in any order or all at once.

* A media library that delivers a more flexible and efficient image editing environment. Every screen capture is stored and made readily available to edit and share anytime. Customers can view all images and sort them however they like, and share multiple images via email or FTP, or print multiple images at the same time.

* With custom tagging options, customers can prioritize, flag, and tag images using their own wording.

* A visual search pane that makes finding previous captures easy. SnagIt knows when and where captures happen. Images, videos and text captures can be searched and viewed by date, folder, keywords, or even by the application or website where the capture originated along with its URL.

* A sleek graphical editing user interface allows for faster ways to find features, apply edits, and gives customers access to their favorite tools.

SnagIt 9 supports Microsoft Windows XP, XP x64, and Vista. SnagIt can be downloaded immediately at www.techsmith.com. The suggested retail price of SnagIt is $49.95 for a single-user license. A special 60-day upgrade price of $19.95 is available to current customers. Free trial licenses are also available.
