Michigan History Day

If you have a child interested in history, the Michigan History Day competition may be just the thing to engage him or her in deeper learning about the subject.

Students from grades four through twelve compete in three different divisions. They can write research papers, create projects, write historical stories or plays, or create multimedia projects such as videos or power point presentations.

The theme this year is innovation in history, and students can apply this theme to any topic they can think of. Winners at the state level compete at the national level this spring. The Historical Society of Michigan organizes the competition, which will be judged this April.
