Michigan Charity Ready To Help China Earthquake Victims

A Michigan charity is already lending a helping hand to victims of the deadly earthquake in China.   State media in China is reporting more than 8,700 deaths in the wake of an 7.9-magnitude earthquake in central China. The quake caused a three-story-high school to collapse in one city, burying as many as 900 students and killing at least 50.

Bruce Buursma at International Aid--based in Spring Lake--says the group is waiting to hear from its partners on the ground to see exactly what they need.

Buursma says once they have that information, they'll work on shipping that material from Spring Lake, or from their corporate-donor partners directly into China.
