Mich Loses Utility Plant to Vermont

Stowe, VT (WWJ\AP)  -- You win some, you lose some.

Already this week, there was word that General Motors was planning to cut white collar jobs, and news of 4,800 jobs coming to Michigan.  Now, the jobs rollercoaster has dipped down again.

Utility Risk Management Corp. moved its headquarters this week from Pennsylvania to Stowe, Vermont.  Michigan, Florida, and New York were other finalists.

The state of Vermont provided $140,000 in incentives. Rousselle says Michigan offered more money, but he chose
Vermont because of the state's strong work ethic.

The company offers an automated inventory of utility companies' transmission systems, which helps ensure reliability.
