One way to help your child improve in math is to have him or her help someone else, especially someone younger than they are.
While it may seem counterintuitive to have struggling students serve as tutors, it can serve as a powerful motivator for students to learn material, and can provide an incentive to review or learn material taught in past grades.
For some kids, the motivation to help and work with younger children can help them engage in math, and they will learn the material in depth to answer questions from younger children.
