Livonia High School Seniors Suspended

Livonia (WWJ)  -- A group of Livonia Stevenson High School students were suspended Thursday because of the t-shirts they were wearing.

About 30 students wore red shirts that had "Puschin It To The Limit" on the front and "Class Of .08 Seniors" on the back.

Communications Administrator Donna McDowell said the shirts sent the wrong message.

"Even though from an outsiders point of view "puschin the limit" may seem like an open ended saying, in this particular case it was pretty clearly known to reflect support for underage drinking," McDowell told WWJ's Karen Dinkins.

Those involved were suspended for one day and are expected back in school Friday.

McDowell says the students will have to complete a written assignment and stay out of trouble if they want to attend prom and their graduation.
