Laser Arms Maker Expanding in Michigan

Oxid Corp. this week is moving into a new, 28,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing plant in Novi.

The company is a manufacturer of articulated arms for medical lasers. It's been in business for more than 22 years.

Jeff Hocking, medical operations manager at Oxid, said the company formerly shared a 12,000-square-foot building with an industrial laser company. The new building, Hocking said, will allow Oxid to pursue the ISO standard for medical devices.

“If you’ve had any type of medical laser procedure such as corrective eye surgery, tattoo removal, hair removal, wrinkle removal or any laser surgery, chances are an Oxid articulated arm was used,” Hocking said. "At Oxid Corporation you can choose from over 400 different styles of articulated arms and counterweights. We can even custom engineer an arm to meet your design requirements.”

Oxid also offers a complete line of handpieces, couplers, micromanipulators, and scanners for both the “OXID” arm and other leading medical lasers.
