Lansing Man Struck By Train Survives

Lansing (AP)  -- According to police, a Lansing man has survived getting run over by a train.

Police say a railroad engineer and conductor reported seeing the 31-year-old man lying on the tracks in Lansing. But the train was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting him about 3:30 a.m. Friday.

The man was recovered from underneath a locomotive after the train stopped. Police say he is in stable condition in a hospital intensive care unit.

Police say the man's use of alcohol is believed to be a factor. He could be charged with trespassing on railroad property.
