Kilpatrick's Office Reacts to Special Report

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's office is calling a report by City Council Attorney Bill Goodman, stemming from the text message scandal, nothing more than a witch hunt. In a written statement distributed to the media, General Counsel Sharon McPhail says the report, leaked to the Associated Press, is designed to further the objectives of certain members of the city council who would stand to benefit personally if higher positions in city government were to open up suddenly. McPhail goes on to say that Kilpatrick will not resign and will be vindicated when the real legal process runs its course.
