Detroit (WWJ) -- Detroit Mayor, and Democratic Superdelegate, Kwame Kilpatrick will be watching his party's convention this week... not from the convention floor, but from a television set.
Spokesman for the Mayor's legal team, Marcus Reese, released a statement Sunday night - requesting Monday's bond hearing be moved to Thursday , ``to ensure we have the appropriate time to prepare for what we hope to be a favorable ruling"
Mayor Kilpatrick is currently under travel restrictions and a GPS tether that limit him to the tri-county area. He had hoped those restrictions would be lifted at the bond hearing, giving him an opportunity to visit the Democratic Convention in Denver.
The convention comes to a close on Thursday, forcing Kilpatrick to remain in Metro Detroit for the duration.
