Interfaith Insight On Bailout

Christians, Muslims and Jews gathered at Sacred Heart Major Seminary for an interfaith discussion about the economy.

Arch Diocese Cardinal, Adam Maida is urging political action to push the package through Congress.

“We have media reports and private discussion. We have heard from local labor and business leaders who are fearful of what can and will happen,” said Maida. “The alternative is not only unwise, it is unthinkable.”

Rabbi Daniel Syme of Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills says that he understands that some people are urging bankruptcy as a solution to the Big Three's problems.

“Although it is one solution, it is not the wisest solution,” said Syme. “And it is certainly not a religious solution.”

Every state will be impacted by failure of the domestic auto industry. Accountability and shared sacrifice are a must.
