Ilumisys Gets More Resellers For LED Flourescent Replacements

Ilumisys Inc., the Troy-based developer and producer of LED lighting, Tuesday announced new channel partner agreements with two new companies.

They are Orange, Calif.-based IHNcorp and its subsidiary Ecogreen Solutions Inc. and the New York City- and Atlanta, Ga.-based Greenlight Initiative.

The companies now offer the Ilumisys line of alternative energy lighting products -- including patented LED tubes -- designed to directly replace standard T8 and T12 fluorescent tubes. Unlike the fluorescent tubes they replace, the ilumisys MK1tubes are mercury-free in addition to providing an energy-efficient alternative.

Servicing California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii, IHNcorp will handle the sales and marketing function and Ecogreen Solutions will install Ilumisys lighting, manage service contracts and warranties and support the end-customer.

"IHNcorp and Ecogreen Solutions have partnered with Ilumisys due to its quality design, manufacturing, market leadership and support of its incredible patented products," said Anthony Mitchell, managing director of IHNcorp. "IHNcorp, Ecogreen and Ilumisys all seek to change the face of solid-state lighting for future generations, reducing our carbon footprint on the world today."

"In a sea of over-rated and over-stated LED-based products targeted at the T8 and T12 fluorescent tube replacement market, the Ilumisys product was the only one we found that fully embraced real truth in marketing," said Nik Nicolakis, president and co-founder of Greenlight Initiative. "The resources Ilumisys has at its disposal, including their ability to design and build under one roof, are obviously being put to effective use in creating a class-leading reputation for quality and value."

The next generation solid state lighting created by ilumisys offers an easy transition from traditional fluorescent lighting while taking full advantage of attributes of light-emitting diodes including long life, temperature robustness, vibration tolerance and energy efficiency.

"IHNcorp and Ecogreen's goals align with Ilumisys to revolutionize eco-friendly lighting solutions," said Dave Simon, president of ilumisys. "Working with IHNcorp and Ecogreen will extend the geographic reach of our products and sets ilumisys on the path to continued market leadership in fluorescent lighting alternatives." As for Greenlight, Simon said, "Greenlight Initiative serves as a powerful extension of ilumisys's national footprint."

Patented circuitry enables ilumisys MK1 LEDs to operate in existing fluorescent fixtures, without modifications to the fixtures or ballasts, allowing users to simply remove an existing fluorescent tube and drop in the ilumisys MK1 product. The ilumisys MK2 runs off of 120 VAC and 277 VAC building currents.

IHNcorp is a sales and marketing firm with more than 10 years of experience in component sales supporting the LED lighting market in the Southwest. Ecogreen offers LED lighting retrofitting.

Ilumisys was formed in 2007 as a spinoff venture and wholly owned subsidiary of Altair Engineering Inc. Initial products will be derived from Altair's intellectual property as they relate to the direct replacement of fluorescent light tubes with LED lamps and direct replacement of incandescent lamps.
