Livonia (WWJ) -- In Livonia, more than 200 local law enforcement officers are spending Thursday and Friday with Israeli experts, talking about how to handle terrorism and other public emergencies.
It's first Michigan-Israeli conference of its kind. Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox told WWJ's Ron Dewey that terrorism may not be getting the same attention as it did just after the 9/11 attacks, but it can't be ignored.
"We're clearly more attuned to the threats since 9/11 and we've done a whole lot more, but we can't tune it out. We have to keep reminding ourselves the threat is ever-present and we have to be ever-vigilant," Cox said.
The two-day conference will also focus on response to natural disasters.
