Help For Your Child: Mentors

All young people need mentors, whether they are struggling or achieving in school.

Mentors are people from outside the family or school community who spend time with young people; listening to them, asking them questions about their dreams, and helping them come up with plans to meet those dreams.

Organizations such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters and 100 Black Men have been mentoring young people successfully for decades, and have been joined by many community, school and church related groups.

So if you think your child would benefit from having a mentor, seek out a trusted organization to provide one.
