Grand Blanc-based Azentek LLC has teamed up with Sydney, Australia-based computer distributor Westwell to bring the world's first fully integrated in-car PC to Australia.
The new Azentek CPC-1200 and CPC-1100 in-dash car computer systems provide users with all the features of a high-end car stereo, as well as GPS navigation, mobile phone integration via Bluetooth, multimedia playback and automobile diagnostics capabilities.
Earlier this year, Azentek has won the prestigious, "Best of CES" award for Car Technology & GPS at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, as well as the 2008 International Telematics award for "Best Aftermarket Device" for its in-car PC systems.
Westwell is also launching the Azentek SmartMirror GPS navigation rear view mirror, complete with reversing camera. The SmartMirror is designed to replace a car's standard rear-view mirror and provide drivers with a highly functional, intuitive GPS system that is easy to see and simple to use.
The Azentek CPC-1200 is the world's first all-in-one fully integrated in-car multimedia PC and GPS. The CPC-1200 is a complete Microsoft Vista-based PC, running off an Intel Core Duo processor and Microsoft Windows Vista.
The CPC-1200 allows users to play the radio, music files and DVDs; access GPS functionality; make and receive mobile phone calls; send and receive e-mails via voice recognition and touch screen. By integrating completely with the car's engine computer, the CPC-1200 can receive data from the car, such as trip information. All of these features are contained in one compact unit the size of most car radio-CD player combinations.
Some key technical features of the Azentek CPC-1200 include An Intel Core Duo T2300 1.66-GHz processor, a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of DIMM memory, Microsoft Windows Vista, hands-free calling, voice-activated navigation, DVD and CD drive, Bluetooth, a 6.5-inch LCD digital touch screen monitor, internal WiFi connectivity, integrated FM and digital TV tuners and readiness for both satellite radio and HD ratio.
The Azentek CPC-1100 in-car PC system provides users with up-to-date entertainment, business, telecommunications, navigation and automobile diagnostics capabilities at the user's fingertips. As a result, the PC can receive data from the car. All of these features are contained in one compact unit the size of a standard car radio alone.
Key features include an Intel Core Duo T2300 1.66GHz processor, a 160GB hard drive, Microsoft Windows Vista, 1GB DIMM memory, HD and satellite radio readiness, Bluetooth, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 chip, hands-free, voice-activated calling and navigation, a 7-inch pop-up LCD digital touch screen monitor, Wi-Fi, integrated FM and digital TV tuners and an optional vehicle diagnostics package.
Azentek also offers the SmartMirror, a rear view mirror replacement with integrated GPS navigation. It has a four-inch touch screen LCD monitor with integrated Bluetooth functionality. This provides users with Bluetooth hands-free phone capabilities; incoming caller ID on screen and automatic call answering. The SmartMirror comes complete with reversing camera.
Other key features of the SmartMirror a 400MHz processor, 64 mb of internal memory, a two-GV SD card for storing maps, pictures and e-books, the Windows CE .Net 4.2 operating system, built-in GPS receiver, Navigon Mobile Navigator 6.5, voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, millions of points of interest, intuitive menus and 3D maps and spoken street names.

The Azentek CPC-1200 and the CPC-1100 will be available in Australia in December from selected motor vehicle manufacturers and auto fitters. Pricing will be available closer to launch date.
The Azentek SmartMirror will be available in November from leading-edge automotive accessory retailers and selected vehicle manufacturers. It will be priced at AU$1,499 recommended price including tax, plus installation, and comes with a three-year replacement warranty.
Westwell Australia was established in Australia and New Zealand in 2004 and specializes in the distribution of technologically advanced, high quality consumer electronics and computer peripheral products.
