Get Your Hands On Geometry
|
Geometry is a subject that is best learned hands-on, with paper, scissors and glue. No matter what the age of your child, they will enjoy building a soccer ball out of paper hexagons.
Cut out regular hexagons from paper, then try to put them together into a ball shape. There is a trick – soccer balls are made out of hexagons and pentagons, so this ball will have holes where the pentagons would be. With some practice, you can build a paper ball, and older students can use a protractor to measure the angles you need to have a well-shaped ball.
