Gas Prices Drop

Southfield (WWJ)  -- Drivers who gas up in Michigan are paying a little less for gasoline. 

AAA Michigan's weekly fuel gauge survey shows gas prices have dropped 8 cents over the last week, putting the statewide average at $3.74 a gallon.

In the Detroit-area prices average $3.70, or 64 cents higher than at this time last year.
  
The cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Saginaw/Bay City area, where a gallon costs $3.68. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $3.93.

The statewide average for biodiesel is $4.31 and $3.27 for ethanol.
