GR's Viastore buys Blesco

Grand Rapids-based Viastore Systems announced Monday it had acquired Blesco Inc., also based in Grand Rapids.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Nor was information provided on the relative size of the two firms and whether there were plans to combine them at one location or shed jobs.

Blesco is an engineering and automation firm specializing in material handling systems design and integration, software development, design and manufacture of special equipment, and robotics systems.

Viastore said Blesco's products and services will enhance both its business in the North American market where multiple technologies are often required..

Viastore is a supplier of automated storage and retrieval systems, including conveyor, storage and retrieval systems, rack structure, fire protection and associated components. Customers include Cargill, Continental Teves, Gordon Food Service, L'Oreal USA, Ford Motor Co., Frito Lay Corp., Robert Bosch Corp. and Wilsonart.
