MORAINE, Ohio (AP)  -- A union at a General Motors plant near Dayton, Ohio, that will close in December says the automaker will offer buyouts, early retirement and transfer rights to eligible employees.

About 1,000 people work at the suburban Moraine plant, which produces sport-utility vehicles.

GM spokesman Tony Sapienza confirmed Friday that a tentative agreement has been reached with the workers, but he would not disclose details.

The International Union of Electronic Workers says workers with 10 years\' seniority or more will be offered $140,000. Those with less than 10 years could get $70,000.

The union also says members will have the option of transferring to another GM facility if openings there occur. Workers are scheduled to vote on the agreement next week.
