ReCellular Announces Investment, Expansion
Dexter-based ReCellular Inc., the world’s leading cell-phone recycling firm, announced today that Stockholm, Sweden-based Investor Growth Capital is investing $15 million in ReCellular in a Series A Preferred Stock financing. The investment enable ReCellular to expand operations and accelerate its rapid revenue growth.

Michigan Tourism Web Site Battle Nears End
It's down to the wire for Michigan's state tourism Web site, Michigan.org, in its online competition with Virginia for the nation's most popular tourism Web site. Virginia put on a big push after Michigan took an early lead, and as of Thursday afternoon Virginia had the edge. So officials of Travel Michigan are asking anyone who hasn't yet voted to vote for Michigan at Michigan.org.
Robotics Conference Heralds Expansion of Industry in Michigan
The Michigan Robotics and Autonomous Technologies Conference, to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 11 in Ann Arbor, will gahter academic, industry and government officials to discuss current robotics projects and future opportunities for southeastern Michigan.
Marathon Donates $2.4 Million For Fuels Gallery At Science Center
Detroit-based Marathon Oil Co. announced a $2.4 million grant to the Detroit Science Center for the creation of a new Future Fuels Gallery at the museum. The 6,000-square-foot, three-story gallery will be one of the museum's largest exhibit areas and the Midwest's only public, educational display of petroleum and alternative fuels technology.
Firm Offers DNA Testing For Alzheimer's Risk
Southfield-based DNA Dimensions said last week it has introduced DNA testing available in Metro Detroit for APOE, the gene associated with Alzheimer's disease.

Taubman Centers Inc. is offering teens a wacky wayback machine online a they get ready to head back to school. Taubman's Detroit-area centers -- Fairlane Town Center, Great Lakes Crossing, The Mall at Partridge Creek and Twelve Oaks Mall -- have launched an online and in-center experience that allows teens to see what they might have looked like when their parents were in school, while also catching the latest in today's fashions.
Pontiac Hospital Offers Less Invasive Kidney Tumor Care
Pontiac's St. Joseph Mercy Oakland hospital announced Wednesday that its doctors have performed their first kidney tumor removal using radio frequency waves rather than traditional invasive surgery. The new method, called CT-guided percutaneous radio frequency ablation, is less traumatic for the patient than traditional kidney tumor removal and results in almost no blood loss.
Priceline.com Finalizes Plans For New Michigan Call Center
Norwalk, Conn.-based Priceline.com Inc. Wednesday said it had signed a long-term lease and is moving forward with plans to establish a new customer contact center in the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming. The center eventually is to create 400 jobs.
X-Rite Sales Rise Slightly, But Profits Elusive
Kentwood-based X-Rite Inc. reported a 1.7 percent rise in second quarter sales over the year-earlier period, as well as a net loss of $20.9 million.
InfuSystem Holdings Revenue Increases
Madison Heights-based InfuSystem Holdings Inc., a provider of ambulatory infusion pumps and associated clinical services, Wednesday announced financial results and provided a business update for the second quarter of 2008.
General Dynamics Gets $600M Tank Tech Work
The United States Army's TACOM Lifecycle Management Command awarded General Dynamics Land Systems $614 million to upgrade 235 M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks to the M1A2 Systems Enhancement Package Version Two configuration, the most technologically advanced digital tank. Some of the work is to be done in Sterling Heights.
