Southfield (WWJ) -- A former Boy Scout leader in Canton has been charged with child molestation and possessing child pornography.
Canton police say 58-year old Frederick Pindzia was arrested after investigators searched his home in Sumpter Township where they say they found more than 100 photographs of young men and video tapes of child porn.
Investigators say many of the photos date back to 1999 when Pindzia lived on Marlowe Street in Canton.
Police say at this point in time they haven't been able to identify many of the boys in the photographs and are asking for assistance. Anyone who recognizes the defendant and may have allowed him to be alone with their son for any period of time should call the Canton Police Department at 734 394-5209.
Pindzia is jailed on $1,000,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing is set for August 4.
