Flint Pharmacy Helps With Drug Access For Needy

Swartz Creek-based Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Monday announced a new agreement with NeedyMeds.com, an online database listing available financial assistance programs for patients requiring support with drug access.

"The mission of Diplomat's dedicated funding department is to uncover funds that are available nationally to offset high co-payments, especially when patients fall into their Medicare Part D Donut Hole," said Diplomat's vice president of sales and marketing, Mark Neville. "Diplomat's current patient centric approach is synergistic to NeedyMeds.com and their ability to triage patients and healthcare professionals to drug specific resources. Once patients are approved for co-payment funds, Diplomat will dispense and coordinate shipment of the needed medication to the patients for no additional charge."

Diplomat is a privately held health care organization focusing on complete medication management programs for patients with serious and chronic conditions. Key programs include: oncology, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Chohn's disease and psoriasis. The company has locations in Flint, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Ohio, Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

NeedyMeds is a 501(3)(c) non-profit with the mission of helping people who cannot afford medicine or health care costs. The information at NeedyMeds is available anonymously and free of charge.
