Go Green with Electronic Waste Collection Event May 10 in Canton: The Wayne County Department of Environment and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit are partnering again to bring the Dell Reconnect electronic waste collection program to Canton Township on May 10. Reconnect is a comprehensive electronics recovery, reuse and environmentally responsible recycling opportunity offering free drop-off recycling and reuse options for unwanted electronics. Only the following items will be accepted: computer monitors, CPUs, keyboards, mouse devices, printers, copiers, fax machines, cell phones. No boxes, manuals or software will be accepted. Detroit Science Center Plans Fun Mother's Day Weekend: The Detroit Science Center will host two days of great events May 10 and 11 with fun activities, demonstrations and shows for the entire family: "Bad Astronomy Day" on Saturday, May 10, featuring the new planetarium show "Bad Astronomy: Myths & Misconceptions" with special astronomy activities and a talk by the author whose book and Web site are the basis for the new show, Bad Astronomer Phil Plait. This new show was produced entirely by the Detroit Science Center's planetarium staff.
