Oakland U sets nanotech conference: Oakland University will explore all things miniscule Monday, Aug. 18, when it presents the First Annual Conference on Nanotechnology. The conference was created by the university’s Grants, Contracts and Sponsored Research office to provide a platform for researchers and engineers to exchange ideas and promote multi-disciplinary, inter-institutional partnerships. Conference themes will include nanoscience and nanoengineering, nanotechnology, structural DNA, nanomanufacturing and nanofabrication, nanomedicine, nanosystems, nanodevices and ethics. TiE Detroit Sets August Meet: The Detroit chpater of the Indus Entrepreneurs will hold a panel discussion on credit and tax strategies on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Topics will include improving personal and business credit scores for better borrowing power, using advanced tax strategies for structuring deals and real estate transactions, how to transition from a W2 employee into a commercial real estate investor and pay no taxes, proven steps for real estate investing success and more. The event begins with networking from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., a panel discussion at 7:15 and questions at 8. The venue is the Westin Southfield, 1500 Town Center.
