Employee Union Calls for Kilpatrick's Resignation

Detroit (WWJ)  -- Leaders of Detroit's largest employee union are calling on Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to resign.

Leamon Wilson is chairman of the 18 American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees local presidents whose members are city workers. The city's collective bargaining agreement with its employees expires June 30th, and union leaders are concerned that the felony charges against the mayor related to the text messaging scandal could undermine upcoming contract negotiations.

The mayor has repeatedly said he will not resign.
