Grosse Pointe Woods-based Environmental Transportaiton Solutions LLC, better known as EcoV, announced this week that it had created a new marketing video of all EcoV Electric models with computer generated animation.
The video is accessible on the www.EcoVElectric.com Web site.
EcoV founder Richard Marks said a second version is in process to add narration to the video.
Marks said the video came out of trips to Virginia to meet with officials of the United States Postal Serivce and to a development called The Villages in Florida. Marks said both customers were enthusiastic about the EcoV and want to see a production version as soon as possible for either testing or placing advanced orders.
Marks says he can build hundreds of thousands of EcoV models at a factory in Detroit if he can get financing. The EcoV is a roadworthy low-speed vehicle certified for roads with speed limits of 35 mph or below. It runs on plain lead-acid batteries and has a range of about 25 miles on an eight-hour charge. The forecast base price is around $10,000.
Marks said The Villages is a key representative market with 70,000 retirement age people in a golf course focused community. Its rersidents own 40,000 golf carts, only a fraction of which are street legal. At several shows, Marks said, it became clear from the residents that EcoV is what they need and want beyond their golf carts.
Similarly, the Postal Service is looking to replace hundreds of thousands of delivery vehicles -- which could become a major EcoV market.
Marks also pointed out that the federal government has begun a tax credit on plug-in electric vehicles. EcoV will qualify starting in 2009.
The company continues to work on getting $3 million in funding in place to start production.
rtising prior to registration is not allowed by SEC. The company has $6M in equity today and needs just $3M in capital to be in production next year. To learn more visit the website.
