EPrize Lets Folks Go, But CEO Says It's Not A Layoff

The Pleasant Ridge online promotions company ePrize LLC let go some staffers Tuesday, but founder and CEO Josh Linkner said it wasn't a layoff.

"We let go a handful of people, under 20, and it was performance related mainly," Linkner said. "A couple of roles were also changed around. In the midst of this economy I know everyone's talking about layoffs but that wasn't the case here."

EPrize is the largest player in the online promotions industry, and Linkner said the company continues to grow and has about 30 job openings.

"Business is good, we're up significantly from the same period last year, clients are happy and we're continuing to dominate the industry," Linkner said.

Linkner also said there's nothing new on the company's long-term search for a new headquarters. Its lease on a unique building along I-696 runs through at least 2011, Linkner said.
