Create a PSA

Tap into your teens’ interest in media by encouraging them to make their own videos. One manageable project is to make a public service announcement for an issue important to them – anything from a concern about the environment, a particular product, or something in your community.
They can start by brainstorming what they want to talk about, perhaps doing a little research on the issue. Next, they can learn how public service announcements are structured by looking at some on television or YouTube. You can help by talking through with them what they notice about effective PSAs.
Finally, they can write the script for their PSA. And if they have the equipment, they can film it and upload their finished video to YouTube to share with the world! |
