Cool Career Choices

Homeland security is not in the news every day right now, but it has become a hot field for students interested in careers that involve science, math, engineering and public service.
Federal agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security, are offering scholarships, summer research opportunities and careers to students who show talent and interest in this area.
While high school students are often too young to apply for these programs, let your student know that with good grades in high school and the right classes in science, math and technology, attending college in a security related career, can be helped by the Federal government.
Also remind your student that a clean background check is important for work in this field, so steer clear of trouble.
