Comcast Boosts HD To 100+ Channels In Western Wayne

Comcast customers in Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Northville, Northville Township and Canton Township now have access to more than 100 High Definition channels, the company announced last week.

This major milestone of massive HD expansion was reached with the addition 42 new HD networks to the lineup as part of the company’s recent digital network enhancement.

As part of its “World of More” digital network enhancement, Comcast has digitized channels 29 through 72 on the local lineup in these five communities to clear the way for additional HD programming, more On Demand programming, faster Internet speeds and other benefits.  The newly launched HD channels, which include popular channels like Hallmark Movie Channel HD, CNBC HD, BET HD, MTV HD and VH1 HD, represent the latest benefits to local Comcast customers in these towns.

Comcast’s investment in its advanced fiber-optic network is scheduled to take place in other Michigan communities over the course of the next year.  As part of this upgrade, the company is providing customers with digital equipment for up to three TVs (one digital cable box and two digital adapters) at no additional cost.

With digital equipment now installed in the vast majority of Comcast customers’ homes in Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Northville, Northville Township and Canton, the company just completed digitizing the majority of its analog channels. This move enables the company to increase the capacity of its network and the amount of programming received by its customers. The first 15 analog channels were digitized on July 28, with the remaining analog channels digitized on Aug. 25.

Customers who have been watching these analog cable channels without digital equipment should contact Comcast now to receive the digital equipment that is available to them at no additional cost.  Customers can visit www.comcast.com/digitalnow or call (877) 634-4434 to receive their equipment.  Comcast’s digital network enhancement does not affect its Limited Basic Cable customers.

To enjoy HD programming, customers must have an HDTV and an HD-enabled set-top box from Comcast.  For more information about Comcast’s products and services, call (888) COMCAST or visit www.comcast.com.
