Detroit (AP) -- The former head of Detroit's downtown convention hall has pleaded guilty in a corruption investigation.
Glenn Blanton says he repaid $15,000 to a Cobo Center contractor to make a bribe appear to be a loan.
He pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court to obstruction of justice and faces a sentence of 10 to 16 months in federal prison.
Blanton is cooperating with federal investigators in a probe of corruption in Detroit city government. Another former Cobo manager has pleaded guilty to a banking crime to cover up his bribes.
Blanton and Lou Pavledes say they received money from Cobo contractor Karl Kado, who also has been charged in the investigation.
