Candidates Face Filing Deadline


Metro Detroit (WWJ)  -- We'll find out Tuesday afternoon who is seeking political office.  The filing deadline for potential candidates is 4 p.m. 

In Oakland County, four Democrats have filed to challenge Republican Sheriff Mike Bouchard.  Former Judge Jessica Cooper is the lone Democrat running for prosecutor.  Three Republicans, including current state lawmaker David Law, are seeking the prosecutor's office.  Dave Gorcyca is not seeking re-election.

In Macomb County, Prosecutor Eric Smith and Sheriff Mark Hackel have filed and will seek re-election.  They are facing challenges from Republicans Michael Wrathell and Kristi Dean.
