CAW Reaches Tentative Agreement with Ford

Canadian Auto Workers President Buzz Hargrove says he's confident that union members will overwhelmingly support a tentative agreement with Ford when they vote on the deal Sunday. Hargrove also told reporters in Toronto that the union plans to meet Monday with General Motors and Chrysler to ``get bargaining going as quickly as possible.''

The CAW typically reaches an agreement with one of the North American automakers and then uses that deal as a framework for deals with the others where it has collective agreements. The CAW's deal with Ford comes more than four months before the current contract is due to expire.
