Border Patrol Hiring

Detroit (WWJ)  -- The Border Patrol is stepping up efforts...to hire more people.

The government agency is looking to fill 6,000 jobs by the end of 2008.  Agents can earn more than $70,000 after three years of service.

"A good part of our force is made up by prior military, but that certainly is not a requirement.  We do have a lot of police officers, a lot of people with college degrees.  Ultimately, you just need to be between 18 and 39, be able to pass that background investigation, and have a solid work experience," Detroit agent Kurstan Rosberg told WWJ Newsradio 950.
