Snow Slows Morning Commute, Bitter Cold Coming

Southfield (WWJ)  -- Cold and snow will be the words of the day this week as bitter cold and more snow is in the forecast.

After one to three inches of snow fell on southeast Michigan Tuesday morning,  Accuweather forecasters are calling for two to four inches of snow Wednesday.

Early Tuesday police departments were dealing with spinout accidents.  Speeds on the freeways at 6 a.m. were at about 45 miles per hour, according to WWJ's traffic reporter John Bailey.  Salt trucks were on the roads.  Click here for traffic updates.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday.  Snow, blowing and drifting snow and wind chills near or below zero will create problems.  Temperatures will fall into the teens by the end of the day Tuesday. Click here for complete weather information.

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow around.
