Bill Rapada



WWJ Newsradio 950 weekend news anchor Bill Rapada is a native of California, graduating from Venice High School and California State University, Northridge, with a major in journalism. He made his professional debut in radio at KDAY 1580-AM in Los Angeles.

Rapada’s radio career in California included positions at KIIS-AM in Los Angeles, where he did commercials for the Los Angeles Kings; KMGG in Santa Rosa; Metro Networks and Ticket 1050 in San Francisco. Rapada’s first job after moving to the Midwest was at WYUR in Detroit before he joined the WWJ news team in December 1998. Listen to Bill Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight.

Rapada enjoys tennis and travel, and hopes to one day own a beagle ranch in British Columbia.

He lives in Oakland County with his wife Nancy and devoted companion, Ollie the beagle.
