New downtown car festival the week prior to the Woodward Dream Cruise. It kicks off with the Detroit Festival of Speed and Style car show at Campus Martius Park. The Woodward Dream Cruise is the world's largest one-day celebration of classic car culture, attracting more than 1 million visitors and over 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles. August 29 - August 31: Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
World-class motor racing in the Motor City with the newly-unified IndyCar Series; the American LeMans Series, the world's premier sports car series; and the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Championship.
