Authorities Investigate Baby Death

Southfield (WWJ)  -- An autopsy on a 2-month-old boy who died at his Livingston County home shows no trauma to his body.

Sheriff Bob Bezotte says he doesn't know how the baby died but the autopsy results released Saturday are important to the investigation. The boy died Friday afternoon in Marion Township.

Bezotte says investigators originally thought the baby and his mother were sleeping on a couch when she accidentally rolled over onto him. But he says they no longer believe that's what happened, since the woman and baby were on opposite ends of the couch.

A toxicology report will be available in about three weeks.
