Ann Arbor Supply Chain Software Firm Gets Deal With Ciber

Ann Arbor-based Llamasoft Inc., a supply chain software developer, this week announced a partnership with Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Ciber Inc. (NYSE: CBR), a global systems integrator, to introduce a new suite of Ciber services to the supply chain market.

Ciber's Strategic and Tactical Analytical Technology Services delivers financial returns by leveraging its supply chain best practices with LLamasoft's Supply Chain Guru -- the industry's leading modeling, optimization, and simulation software.

Throughout 2008, Ciber and LLamasoft have been engaged at a large automotive manufacturing company delivering supply chain visibility and analytics systems. The project has examined the automotive company's existing supply chain structure for cost reduction and performance improvement opportunities across the entire network. The STATS service rendered more than $200 million in potential savings through a re-aligned network that maintains industry service levels, while significantly reducing supply chain costs from global sourcing, warehousing, and transportation, through distribution to dealers across North America.

Ciber's supply chain expertise utilizing LLamasoft software creates a powerful approach to evaluating inventory, sourcing, transportation and production planning. Ciber and LLamasoft's optimization tools provide a robust method to analyze an organization's total supply chain network from supplier to end customer and will help develop an optimal supply chain network for the organization. Ciber and LLamasoft's network simulation tools predict financial metrics, inventory levels over time, customer services rates, individual order fill times, availability rates and many other performance measures.

Ciber's services are offered globally on a project- or strategic-staffing basis, in both custom and enterprise resource planning package environments, and across all technology platforms, operating systems and infrastructures. Founded in 1974, Ciber now has nearly 100 offices in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Pacific, 8,500 employees and annual revenue of $1.2 billion.
