Romulus (WWJ) -- Starting Tuesday, security at Metro Airport will be able to get up close and personal.
The TSA will start using a Millimeter Wave Whole Body Scanner at the MacNamara Terminal. This will allow security to see an outline of the entire human body, but only in black, white and grey hues. This will allow the inspection underneath a passenger's clothes for any weapons, explosives, drugs or other contraband.
It won't be used for every traveler, just those passengers selected at random, connecting from international to domestic flights, or if additional screening is needed.
But passengers can skip the wave scanner in favor of the pat-down search.
