Accused Child Molester Arraigned

Detroit (WWJ)  -- A Sumpter Township former Boy Scout leader accused of molesting young boys was back in court Friday, this time for his arraignment.

Some have been calling Pindzia the biggest child molester in Michigan history, after officers found more than 100 Polaroid photographs of nude boys - ages 8 to 15 - as well as videotapes at the residence.

The attorney for 58-year-old Frederick Panzia pled not guilty on his behalf as he stood mute dressed in a green Wayne County jail jumpsuit.

Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Michael Woodward said Panzia will face more charges, in addition to 7 criminal sexual charges, stemming from an investigation by Canton Police, "When police inititally became involved in this, they executed a search warrant where Mr. Panzia worked," Woodward told WWJ Newsradio 950's Florence Walton.

"They have also had contact with a number of other people that he [Panzia] knows. The police have gotten ahold of a lot of pictures and some computers," Woodward said.

Panzia is scheduled to go to trial on January 26th of next year. He remains jailed on a $1 million bond.
