6 Fired After Hospital Ward Death

New York (AP)  --  Officials promise to make changes at the psychiatric ward at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, after workers ignored a dying woman on the floor.

It happened two weeks ago. Surveillance video showed Esmin Green falling from her chair and writhing on the floor, while workers failed to help for more than an hour.  Click here to see more.

One guard didn't even leave his chair, rolling it around a corner to stare at the body, then rolling away a few moments later. By the time someone did get help, Green was dead.

She had been brought to the hospital suffering from agitation and psychosis and waited in the emergency room for almost 24 hours.

Six people have been fired in the investigation.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he was disgusted by the tape.

The New York Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit in the case.
