Guilty Plea, New Charges In Firefighter Death

Detroit (AP)  -- A man charged with setting a Detroit house fire that killed a firefighter a year ago has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and agreed to testify against a co-defendant. Darian Dove pleaded guilty Tuesday.

Authorities announced charges Thursday against a second defendant, a Detroit man who is accused of asking Dove to set the house fire.

Mario Willis is charged with arson and murder committed during an arson. Authorities say Dove was paid $20.

Detroit firefighter Walter Harris died while trying to put out the fire in an abandoned house in November 2008. The two-story structure fell on him.

Willis' lawyer, Odie Uddyback said he's surprised by the charges.
