Oakland Hills Country Club was also the host site for the 2004 Ryder Cup Championships. The South course of Oakland Hills Country Club designed by Donald Ross opened in 1918, and is consistently ranked among the top ten courses in the United States. The North course is ranked in the top ten in Michigan.
