$1 Will Buy Historic Ann Arbor Home, But...

Ann Arbor (WWJ)  -- In an effort to preserve a row of seven century-old homes in Ann Arbor -- homes that otherwise face demolition -- local builder Alex de Parry is selling them for $1 each.

Sounds too good to be true, and it is--sort of.  There's a stipulation that the buyer pay to move them, and they can't be moved in its entirety.

A group of investors has submitted a plan to replace the homes with four-story apartment building dubbed City Place.

It's the group's second proposal for the South Fifth Avenue site. The first was rejected by the city's Planning Commission in January.

The story is reported by the Ann Arbor News.
